Rare Diseases Day, which is celebrated on the last day of February every year, was celebrated by organizing the 6th Rare Diseases Symposium at Göztepe Prof. Dr. Süleyman Yalçın City Hospital Conference Hall under the leadership of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elif YILMAZ GÜLEÇ, Head of the Department of Medical Genetics of our faculty, in cooperation with the Rare Diseases Research Club (IMUNAD) of our faculty.
The main topic of this year's symposium was chosen as “Treatment Approaches and Examples in Rare Diseases”.
Our experienced speakers made detailed presentations about treatment approaches in rare neurological, metabolic and immunological diseases that can occur at any age.
The meeting was attended by students, physicians and healthcare professionals interested in this subject and useful information on the subject was presented to the participants.
IMUNAD and the Department of Medical Genetics, whose common goal is to raise awareness about rare diseases, to provide education, to share new developments in the field of diagnosis and treatment and to support those with these diseases, plan to repeat this activity every year by choosing different topics.
