Faculty of Medicine

In the 2013-2014 academic year, education began at our Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty produced its first graduates in the 2018-2019 academic year.

Our faculty is located in the North Campus of the University.

In terms of transportation facilities, our faculty is just a few minutes away from Unalan metro station and Uzuncayir metrobus stop. There is also a bus stop in front of the main building of the Faculty and the Faculty is 15 min. away from Kadikoy by bus.

In order to meet the accommodation needs of students coming to the university outside Istanbul, there are five dormitories administrated by General Directorate of Higher Education Credit and Hostels Institution (KYK) in the Asian side of Istanbul. There are also many private dormitories and hostels that provide accommodation services. In addition, a large dormitory building is planned to be built by Directorate of Higher Education Credit and Hostels Institution in the new campus.

The language of education, as of 2016-2017, is 100% Turkish. English preparatory education is not compulsory once you started to the Turkish education.

Each course in Semester I, II and III consists of boards. There is 70% attendance requirement for theoretical courses of boards, and 80% attendance requirement for applied courses. However, in Term IV, V and Term VI, full attendance is required.

You can select courses and renew registration by entering the Student Information System (ÖBS) with your own username and password between the dates announced in the academic calendar. You should consult with your advisor while you are selecting courses and renewing your registration.

If you enter the necessary information by clicking on the "forgot password" link when entering the Student Information System, a password reset message will be sent to your e-mail address

Semesters I, II and III are mainly done on the basis of course boards, small internships in term IV and V, internship in semester VI. Semester elective courses can be opened in Semesters I, II and III. The student must take at least one course from the elective courses opened every half year

The dates of the intermediate exams, finals and make-up exams held in our faculty are published in the announcements section on the web page of our faculty.

At the end of each course board, the board exam is held. The grades taken by the student from these exams are processed as course board exam grades. And at the end of each semester, the final exam, which includes all of the course boards, is held. The grade taken from this exam is also processed as the final exam grade. In the means that the final or make-up grade of the semester must be at least 50 (C2) and the semester grade must be at least 60 (C1) for the student to move to the next semester.

Lectures are conducted with the use of ZOOM platform which is supported Edmodo for in-semester activity tracking and homework/assigment.In addition in-semester assessments and evoluations are established with the use of Zoom in parallel with TurnItIn.

Yes, There is a subscription to the DeepKnowledge Library Portal, which provides access to digital library resources both on and off campus, which are available through the Library and Documentation Department. In order to access off campus, you can use both smart phones, tablets and computers by logging into the system at ekutuphane.medeniyet.edu.tr with the user accounts defined for you via e-mails of Medeniyet University.
